The NPB Tracker is tweeting that the Mets have an agreement with Japanese right-hander Ryota Igarashi. Yesterday, there were reports around the MLB involving the Mets and the Red Sox both close to deals with the 30 year old reliever.
I posted a video yesterday of him in the Japanese Baseball League. The guy has blazing heat and looks like good movement. I think the idea is that he becomes the 8th inning bridge to Frankie.
Its a minor signing, but is Omar starting to put the pieces together and build his 2010 Mets puzzle? Let's hope so.
