Jon Heyman at SI.com is reporting that Omar Minaya has upped the Mets offer to Bay more towards the area of a 5 year deal worth $75 million. It is slightly less per year than the initial offer, but adds the 5th year. Additionally, Heyman reports that although the Mets jumped in on Bay at first because they thought they could strike a deal quickly, Minaya is inclined to jump back in on Holliday (perhaps to force someone's hand). Minaya may speak to Boras today.
I have always preferred Holliday because of age and athleticism. However, if Minaya wants a deal done soon, Boras will not let that happen. I think the Mets prefer Bay because of money issues.

That and Bay pulls the ball more then Holliday does so he would have better bats at Citi Field. I think Bay will sign with a week with us.

I also just read that the Cardinals offer for Holliday is 5yrs 80mil and are offer for Bay is 5yrs 75mil I would think if were jumping back in on Holliday that are offer for him would be 5yrs 90mil or around there. Could get interesting between these 2 players
