Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Mets will meet with Bengie Molina's agent today and most likely make there first offer. Contrary to what some are saying about the Mets already extending a two year offer to Molina, the Mets seem guarded against bidding against no one.
I don't think this s rocket science or anything. I am sure the first offer will be a one year deal in the $4-$6 million range, possibly with an option for a second year. There is no way they will start with a two year offer given that they only really want to go one. It has been rumored that Molina is seeking a 3 year deal. If the Mets give him three years, I am shutting this site down and starting a blog about something else. I will not be able to recover from a three year deal to that fat, aging, one-dimensional ballplayer.
Here's to hoping that some other stupid GM offers him three years and Molina grabs it fast.
