In an article from Bill Rogers from Chicago, the Cubs are trying to get creative in ridding themselves of Milton Bradley, his contract, and his attitude. The report includes the idea of the Mets acquiring Kevin Millwood from the Rangers and the Cubs getting Luis Castillo with Bradley going to the Rangers. Supporting the idea, there are indications from outside sources that this deal is actually a possibility. One sticking point may be the need for the Cubs and/or Mets to pick up some salary for the Rangers.
I don't know how the money side would work out so it is really to early to address this as a good/bad trade for the Mets. What I know is that Millwood, when healthy is a solid back end of the rotation guy that will throw 200 inning and keep you in games. Exactly what a fourth or fifth starter needs to do.
I am assuming this trade opens the door for Omar to get Orlando Hudson, however, I do not understand the fascination. He is good, not great. He is aging and will not be cheap. I would rather see them explore the Brandon Phillips route and maybe even take on another back end guy like Harang or Arroyo if needed to do the deal.
