It is becoming more and more possible that the Chicago White Sox and the New York Mets may strike a deal in the coming days/weeks. According to the Chicago Tribune, the teams continue to talk on a couple fronts. Jermaine Dye, Bobby Jenks, and Javier Vasquez (to a lesser extent) may all be topics. Chicago had scouts watching both Bobby Parnell and Eddie Kunz on Tuesday night in the AFL.
This intrigues me a great deal. Part of me says, trade some prospects along with Castillo and Heilman for a couple of the three. Even if the Chisox took Castillo from the Mets, they would gain salary relief from Vasquez leaving and would also get the prospects they are looking for. My sense is that there is a lot of posturing in the game as we head into free agency and the winter meetings in December. Any thoughts?
