Well, it was a long day in the MLB. Furcal, Renteria, Peavy, lots of rumors and none of them true or sound. At one point today, the Mets had offered a contract to Furcal and he was deciding soon between them and the A's. Now, it seems the A's and the Giants are fighting for him with a couple dark horses lingering (Braves and maybe the Rangers). About the second that the Giants were rumored in on Furcal, it was posted on a variety of sites that they had signed Renteria to a two year deal. Guess what? Not true. Peavy is now probably headed to the Cubs and it appears the Braves are completely out of it. This probably means the Braves get him tomorrow.
By the way, the sick thing is, the only real news was the Minor League signing of two Indian kids that won a reality contest to try out in front of MLB scouts. The Pirates signed Dinesh Patel and Rinku Singh today and assigned them to the Minor League camp come spring training.
